With over 15 years of experience in business valuations, Yamil Rivera, CPA, ABV, CGMA has gained expertise in providing sound advice to customers on either side of the transaction as well as other users of business valuation reports in Puerto Rico. He has been engaged to value medical practices, retail businesses such as supermarkets, franchise and full-service restaurants, manufacturing businesses, and start-ups. Yamil has performed more than 50 business valuations assignments. Mr. Rivera has served as expert in the field of valuation in legal proceedings and has been named by the court to serve as expert witness. Yamil has international accounting firm experience working at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, among others. Yamil graduated from the Chapman Graduate School of Business, Florida International University in 2002 and obtain his certified public accounting license in the State of Florida the same year. He is licensed by the Puerto Rico State Board of Accountancy and is a member of the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants.

​Yamil is accredited in business valuation (ABV) by the AICPA, where he is a member of the Forensics and Valuation Services  Practice (FVS). The FVS is the premier membership of CPAs and other consultants in the field of business valuation services, financial forensics, including lost profits determinations, as well as fraud prevention and detection.  In the past, Yamil was a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, an organization who, similar to the AICPA, after satisfying certain educational and examination requirements, certifies their membership as valuation analysts.

 

He is also credentialed as a CGMA (Certified Global Management Accountant) by the AICPA, a designation for CPA professionals who have advanced proficiency in finance, operations, strategy, and management.  

Mr. Rivera is a member in good standing of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants (CCPA).
